"oh, please. you can’t REALLY be in a great mood. there are people out there who just got raises. people just got married. people are being reunited with their families right now. how dare you say you’re happy."

The equivalent of someone saying you can’t be sad because other people have it worse than you.

The really dangerous people believe that they are doing whatever they are doing solely and only because it is without question the right thing to do. And that is what makes them dangerous.

My nephew’s daughter wasn’t feeling well and, upon a doctor’s examination, she was found to have issues with her heart and was admitted to a hospital. After 15 days in ICU in Tulsa, she was flown to St. Louis Children’s hospital ICU where she was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Dilated Cardiomyopathy is a condition in which the heart becomes weakened and enlarged. As a result, the heart cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body. Now little 2 year old Nova needs a heart transplant!  We do not know how long she will be in St. Louis, but this will be a hard and costly journey as heart transplants can cost over a million dollars. My nephew has insurance but, as everyone is aware, insurance does not cover everything that is needed, not to mention the cost of traveling to and from the hospital and my nephew’s time away from work. I ask foremost for your prayers for Nova and for her family. We would appreciate your support with the purchase of a T-Shirt(via booster) and/or donation(via gofundme). Even the smallest donation is greatly appreciated. Every bit helps. Thank you!

A lot of reblogs but hardly any donations. Guys literally ANY little bit helps!

There have still been barely any donations. I’m talking if everybody could donate even just a dollar.

There have been some, not good developments, on the fundraising front. My extended family is really just not very nice okay they’re very selfish people. They tried to organize a fundraiser (it was a raffle) that they ended up losing money on because they made the fundraiser about them. They don’t know how to organize things. They just don’t. It’s been brought to my attention that my going around them and only addressing my cousin (the first entry was written by my mom, hence why he’s referred to as nephew) and Nova when making the fundraisers actually made my extended family mad. Because of that, they refuse to donate any money to the cause. It’s a really shitty situation. Their pride has gotten away, again, in helping this little girl get her transplant. I’ve since disowned them in a colorfully worded conversation, but that’s beside the point because Nova still needs your help.

I don’t know what to do. I’m trying everything but I can’t do this alone. If I could do it alone, I would. I hate asking for money like this but this isn’t about me. I am begging that you donate, even if it’s just a little bit. But you can’t rely on somebody else to make the donations for you. Signal boost after signal boost doesn’t give her what she needs. If you can find just a little bit of money for Nova, I will be grateful. She will be grateful. Her dad will be grateful.

I want to be able to say that this worked and that we helped. I want people to want to help this little girl live her life and I can’t do that alone. So I am begging you to donate anything. Literally anything. Don’t worry if it sounds too big or too small. If everybody just made a one dollar donation who has reblogged this we could have at least $100 dollars. But 90% of the money in the fundraiser as of now has come from me. I need your help guys. Please, donate.

We’re making progress but it looks like we’ve hit a little bit of a wall. When I say ANY little bit helps, I mean it! We’ve managed to get off the ground but there’s still a lot more to be done here!

Donations have slowed to a complete halt. I don’t know what to do. I keep reblogging but nobody is donating anymore. The amount of money being asked for here is a penny in the well in comparison to how much this journey is going to cost—this entire thing costs so much in expenses from travel and hospital and then the heart itself—and it was going good for about a day but then the donations just stopped.

Nova can die from this. PLEASE, donate. I am begging you.

Nova was admitted into the ICU on the 11th of September. While she will survive, we need to keep pushing. Donations have picked up a little bit once more but we’ve still got a ways to go! No amount is too small oof a donation. Thank you so much for the donations thus far but we gotta keep pushing!

Nova has undergone surgery and received a Berlin heart as of 9/15/2014. This is a good step in the right direction but it’s a mechanical pump system—she still needs that new heart. Donations have halted again and I know the post is getting long but we need to keep donating. If everybody who reblogged/liked this post (as of now there are about 1,100 notes) donated even just one to five dollars we could be even just half way to the goal. Keep sharing and donating! We’re making a difference!

Sanfilippo Syndrome is incredibly rare and occurs in around 1 in every 70,000 births. As Roger explains in the video above, the disease affects development and then leads to neurological deterioration, including the loss of the ability to feed yourself, to speak, and to walk. Life expectancy for kids with Sanfilippo is anywhere between 10 and 20 years old and at the moment there isn’t a cure or effective course of treatment for the syndrome.

Blair’s family is raising money for the Sanfilippo Research Foundation and 282 people have already raised over $60,000. You can donate towards the $100,000 target here on Blair’s GoFundMe page.

Republicans talking shit AGAIN. This @GOP tweet is the literal opposite of what they believe, campaign, and how they vote.

They know that no matter how outrageously they lie, their base will still believe them.

I reblogged this a couple weeks ago, but I’m reblogging it again because after sending that tweet out on September 1st, Republicans blocked equal pay (yet again) just two weeks later.
